Employer Description Steakhouse and pub Job Description Our client is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Restaurant Manager to join their busy establishment in Greenstone Park. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong leadership ability and the energy to keep a high-volume venue running smoothly, from the first service of the day to the last. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring a consistently high standard of service Lead, motivate and manage a team of approximately 50 staff, who work across staggered shifts Compile and manage staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage for every shift Recruit, train and develop staff and handle performance and disciplinary matters Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships Monitor cash handling, till reconciliations and daily takings Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and liquor license regulations Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly Control costs, minimise wastage and help drive sales and profitability Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests and staff Report directly to the owner with regular updates on operations and performance Qualifications Matric certificate (essential) Diploma or certificate in Hospitality or Restaurant Management (advantageous) 5-7 years proven experience in a management or supervisory role in a restaurant or nightclub environment (essential) Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced setting Valid driver's license and own transport (preferred) Skills Strong leadership, people management and conflict resolution skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Sound knowledge of stock control, POS systems and basic financial management Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure Strong organisational and time management skills Reliable, honest and trustworthy with a high level of integrity Flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays Salary/Package R25 000 to R35 000 per month, depending on the applicant's experience
