Job Advert Summary

Rand Water is looking for a candidate to assist in performing maintenance work in the electrical department. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, successful candidates will assist Supervisor / Artisan in maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure availability of an efficient plant and continuous water supply to customers.

Primary Duties

• Assist Artisans in the maintenance of electrical equipment and perform minor electrical installations in the plant and workshops
• Installation of new cables, digging of trenches, strapping of cables and installing cable racks
• Repairs of damaged equipment such as geysers, stoves, heaters and ovens
• Replacement of faulty plugs, lights and isolators
• Testing of low voltage cables, motors and locate fault using various testing equipment’s.
• Conduct cable joints and fault finding
• Ensure good housekeeping is maintained
• Collect spares from the suppliers and stores

• Grade 12/ N3 certificate
• NQF Level 4 Electrical Engineering certificate
• 2 years working experience in the electrical field
• Code EB or C1 Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Rand Water`s K53
• Trade test Certificate will serve as advantage
