VM and Spatial Planner Assistant

Role purpose

The VM and Spatial Planner Assistant supports the Spatial Planner with the planning, documentation and implementation of homeware products within store settings.

The role assists in translating concepts developed by the Chief Brand Officer into clear and practical visual merchandising guidelines. A key focus is helping stores understand how key new and existing homeware products should be styled, grouped and integrated into furniture settings, particularly during the company’s twice-yearly store revamps.

Key responsibilities

Homeware lookbooks

• Assist with the preparation and compilation of homeware visual merchandising lookbooks.
• Gather and organize the product information, imagery, layouts and styling references required for each lookbook.
• Document how homeware products should be grouped, styled and implemented within store settings.
• Check lookbooks for accuracy and consistency before they are shared with stores.
• Communicate lookbooks and related implementation requirements to relevant store teams.
• Maintain an organized library of current lookbooks and supporting material.

Store revamps and product integration

• Support the Spatial Planner in preparing for the company’s twice-yearly store revamps.
• Assist with incorporating new homeware ranges into furniture settings and store layouts.
• Help translate the Chief Brand Officer’s concepts into practical in-store applications.
• Use Revit to assist with layouts, product placement and spatial-planning documentation.
• Help ensure that each setting is allocated the correct homeware products and stock.
• Track changes, product requirements and outstanding information during the planning process.
• Identify potential product, layout or implementation issues and raise them with the Spatial Planner.

General support

• Assist with the ongoing presentation of homeware products across store settings.
• Support communication between the buying team, stores and other relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate product, layout and visual merchandising documentation.
• Provide general visual merchandising and spatial-planning assistance as required.

Candidate profile

This is a junior role suited to a recent graduate with a strong visual eye and an interest in homeware, interiors and retail. The ideal candidate will combine creative thinking with attention to detail and be comfortable working across both design and coordination tasks.

• A relevant qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Spatial Design or a related field.
• Proficiency in Revit is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Strong visual awareness and an understanding of colour, scale, styling and product coordination.
• Good organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively, manage deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.

Experience in retail, visual merchandising or homeware would be advantageous but is not essential.
