Employer Description Our client specialises in industrial refrigeration solutions Job Description The Mechanical Designer \/ Draughtsman is responsible for the design, 3D modelling, drafting and technical documentation of industrial refrigeration equipment and systems, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration and compressor packages. You will be responsible for the following: Design and 3D model industrial refrigeration equipment and compressor packages. Design compressor skids, base frames, supports and associated mechanical components. Design and route ammonia refrigeration piping, including suction, discharge, liquid, hot-gas and oil piping. Design and detail oil separators, pressure vessels and associated components. Produce 2D manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings. Produce piping isometrics, spool drawings, weld-maps and DXF files where required. Develop and maintain P&IDs and ensure consistency between drawings, models, and equipment. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), material take-offs, line lists and equipment schedules Qualifications Matric Draughting qualification Skills Minimum 5 years experience working in the industrial refrigeration environment AutoCAD \/ AutoCAD LT and preferably Fusion 360 or similar 3D CAD software Experience or knowledge of: Industrial ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration. Screw and reciprocating compressors. Compressor packages and oil management systems. Knowledge in SANS10147, SANS347 and PER. Refrigeration valves and components. P&IDs and piping systems
