What you'll do

• Oversee and enhance the overall customer experience and engagement within the supermarket.
• Lead, develop, and manage supermarket personnel, ensuring effective administration and motivation of the team.
• Manage the supermarket's profit and loss accounts, analysing financial reports to meet sales and profitability targets through strategic execution.
• Coordinate merchandising efforts, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to optimise product visibility and sales performance.
• Maintain optimal stock availability, quality control, rotation practices, and implement loss prevention measures to safeguard assets.
• Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations, food safety standards, and all relevant company policies and procedures.
• Implement and monitor security protocols, sales recording, and inventory control to maintain operational integrity.
• Plan and manage staffing schedules effectively, including performance management and facilitating ongoing training and development programmes.

What you bring

• Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of experience in a retail environment, preferably within supermarket operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and take initiative in a dynamic setting.
• Adaptability to rotational experiential learning programmes and a willingness to embrace change.
• Proficient in using computers, including basic MS Office applications and supermarket systems.
• Sound knowledge of store operations management, promotional planning, merchandising, and stock handling procedures.
• Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a customer-focused approach.
