POSITION INFO:
Position: Temporary Financial Manager Industry: Automotive Manufacturing Reporting to: Commercial Director Accounting System: SYSPRO (Essential) Role Summary: To manage a small team and take hands-on responsibility where required, implement systems, month-end journals, prepare management accounts, SARS returns, costings and forecasting. Key Responsibilities 1. Oversee the accounting function of the business This includes managing the bookkeeper, debtor, creditor and stock functions Implement systems and controls Ensure accurate recording of entries and train staff where needed. 2. Inventory & Stock Control Stock movement checks and processing. Assisting with the verification of cycle counts Costing: including reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM) and identifying fluctuations in raw material costs. Obsolescence: Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete stock. Record scrap 3. General Ledger & Compliance Month-end journal entries Prepare and submit VAT and EMP201s' Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including ensuring all assets are tagged. 4. Management accounts & Forecasts Prepare monthly management accounts Review and highlight to management any areas for consideration Drive cost savings Detailed analysis to management Prepare Forecasts 5. Product pricing\/costings Work on internal costings e.g. machine hour calculations Assist the Commercial & Financial Director with quoting on new business 6. Prepare audit files for the following audits Annual Financial Audit BBBEE Audit AIS (Automotive Investment Scheme) Audits Technical Requirements & Qualifications Education: Formal accounting qualification SYSPRO Expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience. Strong experience across all modules. Accounting: Strong understanding of accounting principles. Industry Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is non-negotiable. (Automotive preferred) Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency to handle complex stock reports. Power BI: Not a requirement but would be an advantage.
