SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Technical Sales Rep (Spare Parts & Aftermarket) for a permanent vacancy based in Johannesburg, Gauteng
POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: At least three years of relevant B2B sales experience in spare parts, earthmoving or mining equipment, heavy vehicles, diesel engines or a closely related technical field. A demonstrated record of winning new customers through proactive external sales. Working knowledge of parts identification and the importance of verifying technical compatibility. Ability to manage quotations, negotiations and follow-ups, with sound awareness of gross margin and payment terms. Professional written and spoken English, and confidence engaging with workshop, technical and purchasing teams. A valid driver's licence, willingness to travel regularly and authorisation to work in South Africa. Competence in Excel and CRM or comparable sales tracking tools; ability to work independently and coordinate across teams. Advantageous experience Familiarity with Weichai, Cummins, Tonly, Sinomach, Sinotruk or Zoomlion equipment and parts. Experience selling to workshops, mining contractors, fleet operators or parts distributors, or developing a new sales territory, will be an advantage. The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Identify and develop new customers through prospecting, telephone outreach, referrals and regular customer visits. Build and manage a qualified pipeline, with clear customer needs, next actions and expected order dates. Identify parts requirements using part numbers, equipment models and serial numbers; confirm compatibility with technical colleagues. Prepare quotations, follow up enquiries and negotiate within approved pricing, margin and credit limits. Promote maintenance consumables, repair parts, service kits and approved surplus stock to suitable customers. Confirm available-to-sell quantities before promising delivery and protect stock reserved for contractual service obligations. Coordinate order fulfilment and support timely payment collection with warehouse and finance colleagues. Maintain accurate customer and quotation records; report sales progress, collected gross profit and market feedback. Develop repeat business and use customer demand to inform future stocking decisions.
