Technical Manager

A leading animal feed manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Technical Manager with strong experience in animal nutrition, feed quality control, and feed milling operations to join their team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will oversee quality assurance, feed safety, regulatory compliance, and technical support to customers, while leading the quality team and ensuring high standards across feed manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage on-site quality control of raw materials, including sampling, testing, and standard analyses.

• Oversee final feed quality control, ensuring representative sampling and testing.

• Conduct analyses on in-process raw materials and finished feed.

• Develop and implement ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards at mill level.

• Support the Feed Safety and Quality team in maintaining compliance.

• Ensure legal compliance with Act 36 and Act 101, as well as veterinary export requirements.

• Manage and motivate the quality team while ensuring adherence to safety requirements.

• Maintain complete traceability of all processes.

• Provide ongoing technical advice and support to customers.

• Evaluate product performance and address customer complaints promptly.

• Support biosecurity compliance and Salmonella monitoring.

• Report on monthly results and investigate potential risks.

• Participate in study groups and train feed mill personnel.

• Contribute to research and product development.

• MSc or BSc (Agric) in Animal Science, with relevant experience.

• Compliance with the Natural Scientific Professions Act 27 of 2003.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in animal nutrition.

• Strong attention to detail, leadership, and decision-making skills.

• Good analytical ability and computer literacy.

• Self-motivated with excellent people skills.
