SUMMARY:
Our client in the IT Industry is seeking a motivated and skilled Support Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and user-support issues. Respond promptly to technical support requests and keep users informed of progress. Provide clear technical guidance and training to users when required. Document support activities, resolutions, and system changes accurately. Collaborate with other IT team members to maintain reliable day-to-day operations. Perform system upgrades and implement improvements as required. Maintain security standards across the organisation's network infrastructure. Technical Excellence Complete assigned technical tasks under appropriate supervision while maintaining system stability. Troubleshoot routine technical issues and escalate or seek guidance when necessary. Carry out scheduled maintenance to support the reliable performance of technical platforms. Personal Qualities Analytical and detail-oriented, with an adaptable and improvement-focused mindset. Resilient and solutions-oriented, with strong time-management and decision-making skills. Communication and Collaboration Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to colleagues, users, and stakeholders. Work collaboratively to resolve technical concerns and develop practical solutions. Participate actively in knowledge-sharing activities that strengthen team capability. Ownership and Continuous Improvement Take ownership of assigned tasks and initiatives, following them through to completion. Support a positive and productive working environment through dependable teamwork. Identify and recommend improvements to implementation and support processes. Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field. 3-4 years of experience in IT. Strong understanding of computer systems, networking principles, and infrastructure. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users. Working knowledge of IT security principles and best practices. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems. Practical experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Microsoft certification is advantageous. Relevant vendor or industry certifications, such as Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware, are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder expectations and evaluate technical options within business and budget constraints.
