What you'll do:

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into solution architecture designs.
• Develop end-to-end solution architectures covering applications, data, technology, infrastructure, integrations and security.
• Ensure that proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, principles and roadmaps.
• Define application architecture, integration patterns, interfaces and technical dependencies.
• Design and assess data architecture, including data flows, data integration and information management requirements.
• Develop technology and infrastructure architecture designs, including cloud-based solutions.
• Apply Azure architecture knowledge when designing, assessing or supporting cloud solutions.
• Incorporate security requirements, controls and risk considerations into solution designs.
• Evaluate technology options and provide recommendations based on functional requirements, technical constraints and operational needs.
• Support the design and implementation of APIs and digital architecture capabilities.
• Work with business analysts, developers, infrastructure teams, security specialists, data specialists and enterprise architects.
• Conduct architecture reviews and support technical decision-making throughout implementation.
• Identify solution risks, dependencies, integration challenges and potential design limitations.
• Maintain solution architecture documentation, diagrams, design decisions and implementation guidance.
• Use enterprise architecture knowledge-base tools to maintain alignment with the broader architecture landscape.

Qualifications: 

• NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent.
• TOGAF 10 certification or an equivalent architecture framework or qualification, such as Zachman or ArchiMate.
• Cloud solutions certification, such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Another equivalent cloud architecture certification.
• Security certification, such as:
• CISSP.
• OSCP.
• CISM.
• Open Digital Architecture or Open APIs certification.
• The specific certification equivalencies and whether all listed certification categories are mandatory should be confirmed before the role is advertised.

Your Expertise:

• At least five (5) years of experience as a Solution Architect.
• Experience or capability in:
• Business architecture.
• Microsoft Azure.
• Data architecture.
• Application architecture.
• Technology and infrastructure architecture.
• Enterprise architecture knowledge-base tools.

Required Competencies:

• End-to-end solution architecture design.
• Business and technical requirements analysis.
• Application and integration architecture.
• Cloud architecture, particularly Azure.
• Data architecture and data integration.
