Overview

Engen, a highly successful multi-national company with an excellent track record in the marketing of petroleum products, invites applications to pursue the business opportunity of owning and managing an Engen dealership.

The main purpose in owning an Engen franchise is to ensure the effective marketing of fuels and convenience offerings, and to ensure optimum returns on investments at franchised outlets

Exciting challenges in owning an Engen Franchise

• Maximise financial and volume revenue for fuels and convenience.
• Ensure financial sustainability of the franchise through daily/monthly financial controls.
• Provide service excellence and customer care in alignment to Engen strategic objectives.
• Ensure effective management of all staff, including the recruitment, performance management and training and development of staff through internal Engen or external training programmes.
• Coordinate store operations, liaising with suppliers and merchandising management to ensure that categories, product range and planograms, sales promotions, stock rotation, pricing, are effectively implemented and optimised.
• Participation in national campaigns, promotions and events in order to enhance brand positioning.
• Compliance to retail standards in alignment with retail efficiency rating forms and health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards.

What you’ll have done before

• Knowledge of financial and business management processes and principles.
• Basic understanding of industry-related legislation and their application to the franchise / franchisee.
• Ability to ensure accurate financial controls, and importantly manage and understand profit and loss (P&L).
• Ability to manage people and work independently, as well as build relationships with strategic partners.
• Ability to identify problems at a site and develop a plan (Risk assessment skills).
• Ability to determine and implement an HSE system.

Who you are

• Dynamic person to operate the Service Station on a full-time basis (Engen franchises are open 24 hrs).
• Minimum 2 years proven experience running a successful business, or corporate environment business managementexperience.
• Commitment to Customer Service Excellence.
• Essential to have experience in managing staff.
• Marketing experience preferably in a Retail environment.
• Computer literacy (e.g., MS Office)
• A tertiary qualification is desirable.

Total Finance Requirement (inclusive of indicative selling price and working capital required)

Indicative Selling Price (excl stock and assets)

Working Capital Required

20% Unencumbered Cash Required (this amount is over and above the Total Finance Requirement)
