Senior Specialist, Change Management (12 month contract)
POSITION INFO:
Our client, a listed mining and renewable energy company based in Centurion, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Change Management to lead, coordinate and implement Organisational Change Management (OCM) activities that support the successful adoption of the Company IM Capex and Opex projects and contribute to the achievement of business objectives. The role includes developing and executing integrated change management plans, stakeholder engagement initiatives, communication campaigns, change impact assessments, training and capability-building activities, readiness interventions and adoption support programmes across the IM Projects lifecycle. The role ensures that employees, leaders and stakeholders are prepared, equipped and supported to transition to new processes, systems and ways of working, while minimising disruption, reducing resistance and promoting sustainable adoption. It also supports compliance with the Mandatory Code of Practice for Change Management in the South African Mining Industry by promoting safe, structured and people-centred change practices. The ideal candidate has strong collaboration, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, together with analytical, problem-solving and facilitation ability. The person must be accountable, agile and resilient, bring empathy and inclusiveness to supporting people through change, and maintain a strong focus on delivering sustainable adoption and business outcomes. Qualifications: Relevant 4-year degree or Honours degree Change Management Certification Experience Required: Minimum of 6-8 years' relevant experience in Organisational Change Management, Business Transformation, IM Portfolio or enterprise-wide technology implementation projects within a large organisation (essential\/minimum). Demonstrated experience developing and implementing change management plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, communication campaigns, change impact assessments, readiness activities, training initiatives and adoption interventions in support of business transformation programmes. Proven experience supporting IM Portfolio or enterprise-wide technology implementation projects, with exposure to multiple project lifecycle phases. Strong experience engaging with stakeholders across different organisational levels, including senior leaders, managers, functional teams, project teams and end users. Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder engagements, readiness assessments and change interventions to support organisational adoption and business readiness. Demonstrated ability to identify and manage change-related risks, resistance, stakeholder concerns and adoption challenges. Experience monitoring and reporting on change readiness, stakeholder engagement, training effectiveness and adoption metrics to support successful implementation outcomes. Experience working within operationally intensive and regulated environments such as mining, energy, manufacturing, engineering or related industries is advantageous. Key Responsibilities: Change Process Implementation: Develop and implement IM change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, change impact assessments, readiness activities, communication and adoption interventions. Apply recognised change management methodologies to support the successful adoption of IM-enabled processes, systems and ways of working. Coordinate and manage IM change activities in alignment with programme milestones, business priorities and implementation schedules. Support business readiness, deployment, go-live and hypercare activities to minimise disruption and promote successful adoption. Integrate change management activities with project management, business process transformation, training and business readiness initiatives. Monitor change risks, stakeholder feedback, readiness and adoption indicators, and recommend corrective actions to improve implementation outcomes. Lead and coordinate change impact assessments and work with business stakeholders to identify, validate and manage impacts arising from IM-enabled business changes. Stakeholder and Employee Engagement: Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, awareness campaigns and adoption activities to build understanding, commitment and readiness for IM-enabled change. Build and maintain effective relationships with leaders, managers, employees, change champions, super users, project teams and key stakeholders to encourage participation and support adoption. Partner with project teams, business representatives, People & Performance and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of change management activities, communications, training and readiness initiatives. Support leader-led change by equipping leaders and managers with the tools, information and guidance required to effectively engage their teams and drive adoption. Identify and address stakeholder concerns, resistance and adoption barriers through proactive engagement, feedback mechanisms and targeted interventions. Promote sustainable adoption of new IM processes, systems and ways of working through ongoing engagement, reinforcement and support activities. Coordinate and support the ERP Change Network, Super User community and other adoption support structures to drive engagement, readiness and sustainable adoption.
