The Western Cape Mobility Department, Western Cape Government (WCG) have exciting employment opportunities for suitable competent individuals to support the directorate through the direct supervision and management of operational personnel, implementation of traffic law enforcement plans and directives, monitoring of performance and compliance, and the development and accountability of employees to promote road safety, legislative compliance and effective service delivery. The successful incumbents must be able to work under pressure, willingness to work irregular hours and meet tight deadlines (working in 24/7 hour shift system).
R 338 106 - R 398 277 per annum (Salary level 7)

All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Enforce Road Traffic, Public Passenger, Transport and other relevant legislations; Examine Vehicles and Monitor Compliance with Vehicle Fitness and Roadworthiness: Requirements: Provide visible Traffic Control/Policing and promote/ensure crime prevention activities; Perform all administrative activities and related duties; Assess road conditions; Mentor and coach Provincial Inspector’s (PI’s) on probation and appointed PI’s; Supervisory functions.
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or higher qualification); A minimum of 3-years of practical experience as a Provincial Inspector; must be in possession of a Basic Traffic Diploma or equivalent qualification; A valid Code B/EB (or higher) driving license.
