DBN000398 – Senior Project Engineer – Ballito

Position Purpose
Join the backend team to architect, build, and maintain our core AI agent platform. Responsibilities include developing APIs, client system integrations, orchestration logic, and high-scale, reliable infrastructure.

1. 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with a proven history of scaling and operating production systems.
2. Deep technical expertise in Python or TypeScript (Node.js).
3. Comprehensive understanding of RESTful/GraphQL API design principles and third-party integration architectures.
4. Strong database fundamentals, specifically with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including advanced data modelling and performance tuning.
5. Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems, CI/CD automation pipelines, and observability tools (logging, metrics, and tracing).
6. Practical, hands-on experience building and shipping large language model (LLM) workflows or generative AI features to production.
7. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical client stakeholders.
8. Experience acting as a technical lead, with a background in mentoring and upskilling junior team members.

AI/LLM Implementation: Successfully built, deployed, and monitored LLM-powered features and applications within live production environments. Stakeholder Communication: Adept at translating complex technical trade-offs into actionable insights for non-technical clients and business partners. Mentorship: Passionate about engineering excellence; regularly mentored and guided junior developers to foster professional growth and improve code quality.
