Senior Mechanical Draughtsman: Pressure Equipment

SUMMARY:
A specialised multidisciplinary engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Draughtsman with pressure-equipment experience to develop detailed fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, tanks, reactors, heat exchangers and related process equipment. Senior candidates with strong knowledge of vessel components, welding details and applicable pressure-equipment standards will be considered.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Produce detailed pressure-vessel and process-equipment drawings Develop vessel general arrangements, sections and fabrication details Detail shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, manways, supports and internals Prepare nozzle schedules and bills of materials Incorporate corrosion allowances, weld details and inspection requirements Interpret mechanical data sheets and pressure-equipment calculations Coordinate vessel interfaces with piping, structures, platforms and instrumentation Support fabrication queries, inspections and engineering changes Maintain drawing revisions, red-line updates and as-built records Senior candidates will check drawings and guide less-experienced draughtsmen Minimum Requirements Relevant mechanical draughting or engineering design qualification At least 10 years of relevant draughting experience Pressure-vessel, tank, reactor, heat-exchanger or process-equipment experience Strong fabrication-drawing knowledge Ability to interpret vessel calculations and equipment data sheets Understanding of welding symbols, materials and fabrication methods SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD or equivalent capability Advantageous Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347 ASME Section VIII, EN 13445 or PD 5500 ASME Section IX welding knowledge PV Elite or Compress exposure Chemical, petrochemical, mining or hazardous plant experience For more information, contact: Siphelele Mzongwana Recruitment Consultant 📧 🔗 If you have not received a response within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
