Senior-Level Network & Data Centre Support Engineer

SUMMARY:
An established, industry-leading IT and Telecommunications Managed Services Provider in Centurion is seeking an experienced Senior Network & Data Centre Support Engineer to take key ownership of critical client environments and infrastructure.

This position is tailored for a seasoned IT professional seeking a high-impact, technical leadership role. You will oversee data centre operations, high-availability cloud setups, complex network environments, and serve as the tier-3 escalation expert for complex technical challenges.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Architect, administer, and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments, virtual infrastructure, backups, and disaster recovery solutions. Oversee full-stack network infrastructure, including routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, site-to-site VPNs, and wireless networking. Manage FortiGate firewalls, performing advanced policy configuration, security audits, and fault diagnosis. Lead directory and security management across Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, Exchange, and Mimecast environments. Perform high-level vulnerability remediation, server patching, SSL deployment, and basic SQL Server support. Serve as the senior technical escalation point, implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under ITIL best practices and mentoring junior engineering staff. Minimum Requirements 7+ years' experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and Windows Server environments. 5+ years' hands-on enterprise networking experience. Non-negotiable: Proven, in-depth expertise with FortiGate firewalls. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange, Mimecast, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Strong technical leadership, root-cause analytical skills, and process ownership. Relevant certifications are highly advantageous (Fortinet FCP/NSE, CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, ITIL).
