PBT Group is seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to join a 12-month project within the financial services and investment platform environment.   The successful candidate will have 8–10 years of development experience, combined with strong technical and business analysis capabilities. This role bridges the gap between business and technology, requiring the ability to understand business needs, translate requirements into effective technical solutions, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organisation.   The incumbent will be involved throughout the solution lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through to development, testing, implementation and ongoing support. A strong focus will be placed on delivering scalable, responsive and customer-focused digital applications and reporting solutions.   Key Responsibilities Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements. Translate business needs and functional requirements into technical specifications and effective digital solutions. Analyse existing systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation. Design, develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications. Take ownership of solutions and projects throughout the full development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation and support. Collaborate with business, operations, UX/UI and technical development teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components, ensuring seamless integration. Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, security and code-quality standards. Provide production support, troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing appropriate technologies and development practices. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organisation.   Minimum Requirements 8–10 years' experience in software development, particularly within a database development environment. At least 5 years' experience working within a Financial Adviser firm, Financial Services Customer Service environment or Investment Platform business. Relevant Commerce degree in IT, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Investment Management or Business Management. Strong technical analysis and business analysis capabilities, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage confidently with multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams. Multilingual capabilities would be advantageous.   Technical Skills Core / Required Technical Skills Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL. C# and .NET development. HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Bootstrap or other responsive web design frameworks. Database development and SQL programming. Beneficial Technical Skills React JS and modern web technologies. .NET Core. Entity Framework Core (EF Core). API development and integration. Angular. Understanding of software architecture and architectural design patterns. Tools and Technologies Visual Studio. Git. Bitbucket. Jira and Confluence. Azure DevOps. Octopus Deploy.   Contract Details Location: Cape Town or Johannesburg – Hybrid. Working Arrangement: Approximately three days per week office-based, with one to two days working remotely. Additional Travel: Candidates based in Johannesburg may be required to travel to Cape Town periodically. The incumbent will also be required to work on-site with the vendor when needed. Duration: 12 months.
