Senior Export Controller

This role is based at our JHB Seafreight Branch in Linbro Park.

Education

• Matric
• 2-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 4 or NQF level 5 or equivalent
  

Knowledge and experience

• Have 5-7 recent years import/export controlling experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry with proven track record of end-to-end process execution.
• To co-ordinate the freight movement of Import cargo through the international transport chain in terms of the client’s import requirements
• INCOTERMS
• Knowledge of commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps
• Sound knowledge of seafreight shipment types. Sound knowledge of claims/insurance processes.
• Geographic locations
• Knowledge and interpretation of rate structure
• National currencies and international codes
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Good Interpersonal skills. Leadership skills. Good communication skills (written &verbal)
• Situation analysis and problem solving. Client orientation
• Accuracy, Punctual and attention to detail. Time Management
• Deadline Driven
• Ability to work in pressurised environment
• RCG (Reporting of Conveyances and Goods)

Overall responsibilities include 

• Plan the freight movement
• Coordinate freight movement
• Process Customs and other statutory documents required for Customs clearance
• Administration of file
• Process claims
• Effect creditors disbursements and process debtors invoices
• Provide guidance to Export Controllers and Learners
• Comply with the requirements of the Customs Accreditation System
• Comply with the requirements of the quality management system
