Provision of port infrastructure to create capacity ahead of demand
Provide engineering inputs in support of delivery of capital projects
Provide technical inputs for business development projects in the port of East London
Conduct asset condition inspections for the port of East London
Improve Human Capital – arrange monthly port engineering training sessions, and mentor sub-ordinates to ensure skills
Undertake design works for small and medium sized projects in the port of East London.
Provide technical support for port specific research and development projects.
Optimise project processes as Business Unit Representative – Actively participate in projects (being managed on an EPCM
basis by Transnet Group Capital) to protect port’s interests and to ensure compliance with project deliverables.
Provide human resource capacity to the department to ensure that there is appropriate capacity and skills.
Improve corporate governance and risk management - Ensure safe working environment, and quality assurance per NOSA
and ISO 9001 requirements.
Compliance with Ports Act – asset maintenance in accordance with the approved Maintenance Manual.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc (Eng) Civil or B Tech Civil Engineering
- Registered as a professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA
- Minimum 9 years’ experience in projects related and design environment either as a project engineer or project manager or
- Maintenance Manual
