Senior Electrician

SUMMARY:
Our client, based in Coega, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrician with a strong industrial electrical background to join their team in a demanding 24/7 production environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in steel, rolling mill, furnace or similar continuous-process industries, with strong expertise in electrical maintenance, breakdowns, automation and industrial power systems.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on complex industrial production equipment. Conduct breakdown maintenance in a 24\/7 continuous production environment . Diagnose and rectify electrical and automation faults on production machinery. Work on MV\/LV power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs and VFDs . Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment associated with: Rolling mills Furnaces Cranes Compressors Hydraulic systems Industrial utility equipment Conveyors and roller tables Shear machines Induction heaters DC motors Slip-ring motors up to 1500 kW Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based automation systems and industrial instrumentation . Fault find on automated production equipment and associated communication protocols. Read and interpret electrical, instrumentation and automation drawings . Conduct preventive and planned maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability. Follow all required electrical safety procedures, including Lockout\/Tagout (LOTO) . Ensure electrical work complies with applicable safety and electrical compliance requirements. Identify recurring faults and assist with improvements to equipment reliability and production efficiency. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Trade Tested Electrician \/ Electrical Artisan. Minimum 10 years' experience as a Trade Tested Artisan. Extensive hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing or continuous-process environment . Rolling mill experience will be highly advantageous. Strong experience in breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting within a 24\/7 production environment. Proven experience with industrial electrical systems, automation and instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret electrical, instrumentation and automation drawings . Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance practices . Knowledge and practical application of LOTO and electrical safety procedures . Knowledge of relevant electrical compliance requirements. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to production breakdowns. HIGHLY DESIRABLE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE Candidates with experience in any of the following environments are encouraged to apply: Steel | Rolling Mills | Furnaces | Heavy Manufacturing | Continuous-Process Plants | Industrial Production IMPORTANT A minimum of 10 years' experience as a Trade Tested Artisan is essential. Rolling mill experience will be advantageous.
