Senior Control Systems Engineer

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Lead control systems engineering activities on multiple projects. Design, develop, and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions. Perform PLC programming, testing, commissioning, and system integration. Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to control systems, instrumentation, and industrial communications. Review PLC programs, control philosophies, and engineering deliverables. Support plant upgrades, modifications, and performance improvements. Work directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Participate in local and international commissioning activities when required. Education BEng, BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in: Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Mechatronic Engineering Related Engineering disciplines Job Experience and skills required Minimum 5 years experience in industrial automation or control systems engineering. Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience. SCADA and HMI development experience. Experience within industrial plant or process plant environments. Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities. Valid driver's licence. Ability and willingness to travel for project and commissioning activities. Technical Skills Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Siemens S7 \/ TIA Portal Rockwell \/ Allen-Bradley ABB Ignition WinCC DCS Platforms Profibus Profinet Ethernet\/IP Modbus Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Advantageous Experience Mining or mineral processing environments Process plant automation projects Modular plant projects DCS integration Industrial networking Functional Safety \/ SIL systems ECSA registration or progress towards registration Multi-platform PLC programming experience The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a hands-on engineer who combines strong PLC and automation expertise with practical commissioning experience.
