Senior Civil Engineer

SUMMARY:
An international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a professionally registered Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure design packages and support the delivery of projects across South Africa, Africa and Europe.
 
This role offers the opportunity to combine technical design with team leadership, collaborate with colleagues across regions, and contribute to proposals and new project opportunities. It would suit an experienced consulting engineer looking to broaden their responsibilities and develop their leadership capability.

POSITION INFO:
Key responsibilities Lead civil infrastructure and site development design packages, including bulk earthworks, water, sewer, stormwater and drainage systems. Apply sound technical judgement to resolve complex engineering challenges. Guide project teams and support skills development and knowledge sharing. Coordinate designs with colleagues across disciplines and regional offices. Deliver work in BIM environments, using Civil 3D and other engineering software to improve coordination and design efficiency. Contribute to proposals and work-winning activities. Maintain design quality while considering commercial objectives and project delivery requirements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng. Approximately eight or more years of relevant consulting engineering design experience, with demonstrated capability also considered. Experience in civil infrastructure and site development projects. Proficiency in relevant design codes, Civil 3D and BIM-enabled project delivery. Strong technical judgement, commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery requirements. Ability to lead teams and collaborate across disciplines and regions. Willingness to support projects across South Africa, Africa and Europe. Additional experience Exposure to bulk water infrastructure, water or wastewater treatment works, flood risk, hydrology or dam-related projects would be valuable. Data centre project experience is highly desirable.
