Senior AR Consultant

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accounts Receivable Consultant (Credit Assessor) to join our Revenue Team in Pretoria on an initial 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing customer credit applications, evaluating creditworthiness, managing credit exposure and ensuring compliance with established credit policies and approval frameworks. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, sound credit risk judgement and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to support effective credit management and customer onboarding.

Job Brief

• Assess new customer credit applications and determine creditworthiness in accordance with approved credit policies.
• Review customer financial information, credit reports and supporting documentation to support informed credit decisions.
• Conduct periodic reassessments of existing customers and recommend amendments to credit limits and risk classifications.
• Monitor customer credit exposure and proactively identify emerging credit risks.
• Support security management processes, including requests, logging, monitoring and release of securities and guarantees.
• Review and maintain customer credit limits and credit terms based on changing risk profiles.
• Manage credit workflows and approval processes, including exposure reviews and customer credit amendments.
• Ensure compliance with delegated authority limits and approval frameworks.
• Partner with Commercial, Sales, Finance and Customer Service teams to support customer onboarding and credit-related decision making.
• Resolve credit-related queries and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Support customer account reviews and provide recommendations regarding payment performance and overall risk exposure.
• Monitor credit risk KPIs and provide input into relevant performance dashboards and reporting.
• Escalate high-risk accounts and significant exposure concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Support provisioning reviews and assist in identifying potentially impaired customer accounts.
• Participate in credit policy reviews, process improvement initiatives and governance activities.
• Support audit requests and control testing activities relating to credit processes.
• Act as a Super User and SME for credit assessment and exposure management processes.
• Provide guidance and coaching to Credit Analysts and operational team members on credit risk practices and policy adherence.

Qualification and years of experience required

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Credit Management, Risk Management or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years' experience in Credit Assessment, Credit Risk Management, Accounts Receivable or Finance Operations.
• Experience assessing customer creditworthiness, financial statements and risk exposure.
• Experience working within structured credit approval frameworks and governance environments.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy or Manufacturing Industries
• Multinational experience preferred
• Shared Services environment experience preferred
