Job Description

INTRODUCTION
Raubex Building Cape is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Safety Officer to join our exciting team, based in Cape Town, Western Cape to start immediately. This position has a 3-month probation period, and the candidate must be able to start as soon as possible.
You will be reporting to the Safety Manager and working closely with the Site Management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring health and safety compliance across the site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • SAMTRAC /Safety management Diploma/NEBOSH
  • Certified as a Safety Officer (CHSO) SACPCMP Registration (CHSO)
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience
  • Extensive Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • HIRA/Incident investigation/first aid certificates will be advantageous.
  • Strong background in construction safety and OHSA compliance
  • Flexibility to work weekends when required
  • Driver’s License (code 8)

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Editing, reviewing and implementation of company policies, plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate and participate in incidents investigation.
  • Emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency.
  • Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Editing, reviewing and implementing group campaigns on site.
  • Conduct site specific risk assessments.
  • Advising site team on safety related matters (Stats, trends, indicators etc)
  • Submit monthly reports to safety manager and site manager
  • Report incidents and near misses to the Group HSE system.
  • Organise and coordinate SHE committee, look ahead and safety meetings.
