POSITION: RISK AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER

DIVISION: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Essential Requirements: ● Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce majoring in Internal Auditing/Auditing and Risk Management ● 5 years’ experience in Risk Management or Internal Auditing ● Advanced Computer literacy ● Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.

 Preferred Requirements● Postgraduate Degree in Commerce majoring Internal Auditing and Risk Management, 8 years’ experience in Risk Management and Internal Auditing and Certified Risk Management Practitioner with IRMSA will be added advantages.

Competencies and Skills ● Knowledge of governance practises and internal control systems ● Knowledge of corporate governance requirements ● Knowledge of internal audit and assurance practises ● Knowledge of Enterprise risk management concepts ●  Awareness of risk finance and risk control ●Technical expertise of various sub-disciplines of business risk management  in the organisation from credit to market risk to operational risk● Knowledge of business continuity planning ● Knowledge of internal control systems ●  Knowledge of government practises ●  Ability to think strategically ●Thorough knowledge of risk management

Key Result Areas ● Develop and manage organisation- wide risk management system ● Implement a set of risk metrics and reports ● Portfolio of Evidence  of input provided for combined assurance plan together with internal audit management ● Monitor and evaluate information systems for overall risk management improvement ●  Develop and monitor the ECGB risk profile● Coordinate external and internal audit functions ● Implement an organisation wide long- term Risk Finance Insurance monitoring and evaluating policy, procedures and standards ●Ensure that effective service level agreements with Insurers are negotiated, implemented and monitored ●Ensure that cost allocation data and information from line departments are collated, statistically analysed and interpreted to determine further allocation of various costs to line departments ●Assist management in developing and implementing risk responses for each identified material risk ●Ensure that a comprehensive risk profile for ECGB is developed through an accurate analysis of all its risk exposures and environment● Develop and communicate risk management policies, frameworks and plans including the quantification of management’s risk appetite through specific risk limits ●Develop the analytical systems and data management capabilities to support the risk management program ●Provide input into the development and subsequent review of the fraud prevention strategy, business continuity plans, occupational health, safety and environmental policies and practices and disaster management plans ●Improve the organisation’s risk management readiness through training programs, risk-based performance measurement and incentives and other change management programs ●Develop a common risk assessment methodology that is aligned with the Institution’s objectives at strategic, tactical and operational levels ●Coordinate risk assessments within the institution on a regular basis. ●Provide organisation with internal control systems including all processes, methods and measures. ● Monitor risks associated with projected costs, actual expenditure against budget and performance-target variances.
