Reservationist

SUMMARY:
A luxury hospitality establishment is seeking a professional, organised and guest-focused Reservationist to join its team. Reporting to the Reservations Manager, the successful candidate will manage bookings and enquiries accurately while delivering courteous, efficient and exceptional service in line with luxury hospitality standards.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Handle reservation enquiries, telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally. Process bookings, manage provisional reservations and update the property management system (PMS). Ensure rates, confirmations, deposits, guest details and special requests are accurate. Maintain organised reservation records, guest histories and booking statistics. Monitor daily arrivals and ensure bookings are confirmed, particularly during high-occupancy periods. Maximise revenue through upselling and adherence to cancellation and no-show policies. Maintain thorough knowledge of room types, facilities, rates, promotions and online travel agency (OTA) channels. Communicate guest requirements and booking information to relevant departments. Identify sales opportunities and assist with pre-bookings of facilities. Build professional relationships with guests, travel agents and colleagues. Minimum Requirements & Skills Must be a South African citizen and reside in the Cape Town Winelands area. Matric / Grade 12 qualification. A diploma in Hospitality, Travel or Tourism will be advantageous. Preferably 2-3 years' reservations experience, ideally within a five-star or luxury hospitality environment. Knowledge of PMS systems and online travel agency platforms. Fluent in English; additional languages will be advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication, sales and customer service skills. Knowledge of domestic and international travel, including business, leisure, group and FIT bookings. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Well-presented, professional and guest-focused. Willingness to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
