Refrigeration and Air Cionditioning Intern
Job Description
- Assist the Maintenance Department with daily air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance activities under supervision.
- Gain practical experience in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Assist with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, fault identification and basic repairs of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment under supervision.
- Assist with monitoring equipment performance, identifying faults and reporting maintenance requirements.
- Assist with the maintenance of heat pumps, ventilation systems and associated mechanical equipment.
- Assist with the safe handling and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, practical training and workplace experience.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures.
- Support general maintenance activities and departmental tasks as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Proof of completion of an N6 Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning obtained through a recognised TVET College
- Basic knowledge and understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools and equipment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Willingness to learn and develop practical technical skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
