Opportunity for an experienced Raw Materials Buyer to manage sourcing, supplier negotiations and raw materials procurement for production in Midrand. This is a 6-month contract focused on cost-effective purchasing and reliable supply.

Salary: Market related Location: Midrand Employment type: 6-month contract opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Raw Materials Buyer to manage the end-to-end local procurement of raw materials and consumables required for production. The role focuses on securing the right quality, quantity, price and supply while supporting cost-effective, sustainable and compliant procurement practices. Responsibilities Purchase raw materials, goods and services at the required quality, quantity, price and time to maximise value. Manage a capable and secure supplier base using sound procurement practices. Execute sourcing projects, including supplier negotiations and implementation of agreed solutions. Place, expedite and reconcile purchase orders using SAGE data and internal requirements. Resolve supplier payment issues and blocked invoice queries. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support procurement and operational requirements. Maintain procurement budgets, sourcing portfolios, spend, supply planning and KPI information. Identify and communicate supply risks to relevant stakeholders. Log and resolve claims raised against suppliers. Support compliance with applicable procurement policies, procedures and governance requirements. Requirements 3-year BCom degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce or a related field. SAPICS or CIPS certification is advantageous. 3-5 years' experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement-related role. Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, chemical or retail industries. Proven experience in sourcing project execution, including supplier negotiations and solution implementation. Experience with new product development (NPD) processes. Knowledge of procurement governance, strategic sourcing and the BBBEE Scorecard. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs. Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Experience working with SAGE data for purchasing activities.
