POSITION INFO:
This is an exciting leadership opportunity with a well-established FMCG company, where your expertise in quality and service management will directly impact operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Where You'll Make an Impact: Lead the Quality function, ensuring robust quality assurance and control across local and imported products. Oversee compliance with ISO 9001, South African standards, and international product requirements. Manage quality inspections, supplier audits, and product compliance processes. Handle non-conformances, CARs, CAPs, and drive root cause analysis for product failures. Monitor supplier quality performance and implement effective corrective actions. Maintain comprehensive quality and compliance documentation, including LOAs and certificates. Support regulatory adherence with agencies such as SABS and NRCS. Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organisation. Provide technical input for new product development and product evaluations. Oversee product testing, laboratory processes, and equipment calibration. Review safety, energy efficiency, and EMI\/EMC reports. Advise internal teams on quality and technical matters. Lead the national Service operations, ensuring efficient workflows, KPIs, and customer satisfaction. Drive initiatives to improve service efficiency, reduce returns, and resolve recurring issues. Foster a customer-focused culture within the Service function. Lead, develop, and motivate the Quality and Service teams, setting clear objectives and performance indicators. Provide regular performance reports and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage departmental OPEX and support necessary capital expenditure. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Grade 12 \/ Matric plus relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field. 5–8 years' relevant experience in Quality, Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or a related environment. At least 3 years' management\/leadership experience. Experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Strong experience in quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality and continuous improvement. Experience with audits, corrective actions and product compliance. Advanced Microsoft Office\/Excel skills. Advantageous BSc\/BEng Mechanical or Electrical Engineering ISO 9001 auditing experience. Experience with SABS, NRCS or other regulatory requirements. Consumer goods, appliances, electronics or manufacturing experience. Experience with international suppliers and test houses. Lean, Six Sigma or Root Cause Analysis experience.
