Protection & Control Engineer

SUMMARY:
I'm seeking skilled Protection & Control Engineers with experience in electrical power systems, protection schemes and grid infrastructure. This opportunity is suited to engineers involved in transmission, substations, renewable energy, utilities or critical infrastructure projects seeking exposure to complex power networks and high-reliability systems.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Design and develop protection and control systems for electrical networks Perform protection coordination and fault level studies Configure and commission protection relays and control equipment Develop single-line diagrams, protection philosophies and technical documentation Support substation, renewable energy and critical infrastructure projects Conduct system testing, validation and troubleshooting activities Review relay settings and protection schemes Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in Protection & Control Engineering Strong understanding of electrical power systems Experience with protection relays and associated control systems Knowledge of protection coordination studies and fault analysis Experience with transmission, distribution, substations or renewable energy projects Ability to produce technical reports and engineering documentation Familiarity with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar software advantageous Qualification: BEng, BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering ECSA registration or working towards registration advantageous Additional training in Power Systems, Protection Engineering or Relay Configuration advantageous Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
