SUMMARY:
#Hiring We are looking for a passionate, community-minded Project Safety Officer / Junior Project Safety Manager with a strong background in mining and mineral processing to join a team of senior professionals within the EPCM Project space.
To support construction activities within a highly demanding engineering project environment, to focus on safety compliance, risk prevention and a strong Zero Harm culture.
POSITION INFO:
Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering , or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 8 -12 years of safety related experience of which at-least 10 years is directly within mining operations facilities . Successful candidate to have reasonable years of experience gained in the EPCM space Valid professional safety certification (e.g., SACPCMP, CHS, SAMTRAC or MHSA regional mining safety certifications) is highly advantageous. Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), OHS Act and Construction Regulations . Legal Appointment under Section 2.17.1 of the MHSA is none negotiable. Understanding of mineral processing hazards (e.g., heavy machinery, chemical reagents, dust control, confined spaces, and high-voltage systems). Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude toward risk mitigation, and proficiency in MS Office suite. We are looking for someone who is confident on site, committed to continuous improvement and willing to speak up when safety is at risk.
