Our client, Merchant West, is looking for a commercially driven Portfolio Manager to grow its presence within the transport finance market. This opportunity is suited to a finance professional with a strong business development mindset, the confidence to pursue new clients and the ability to structure finance solutions that meet commercial needs. This is a hands-on, sales-driven role where success comes from identifying opportunities, winning new business and building a sustainable portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting and proactive client acquisition. Develop, manage and grow a portfolio of clients within the transport finance sector. Structure and negotiate tailored finance solutions that align with client requirements and commercial objectives. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders. Research market opportunities, develop a strong prospect pipeline and consistently pursue new revenue streams. Drive portfolio growth and business performance within a target-driven environment. Minimum Requirements BCom degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field. 4-5 years' experience in asset finance, vehicle finance, commercial finance or transport finance. Proven experience in new business development, prospecting and client acquisition. Exposure to transport finance, commercial vehicle finance, fleet finance, structured finance, banking, lending or investment environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems will be advantageous. A commercially minded, ambitious and resilient approach, with strong negotiation, relationship-building and sales skills. The opportunity?
