Project Leaders - (Technical Peak Season Pool)

Job Purpose

To oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of specific short-term projects that must translate to efficient delivery of Aircraft Turnaround time. The incumbent will ensure the achievement of planned revenue targets through proper cost and revenue controls, proper contract execution and achievement of turnaround times to ensure a professional customer service

Reporting To

To manage heavy maintenance projects in line with the operation’s strategic plans and objectives in order to ensure efficient executing thereof

Manage project resources within the contracted framework/project scope in order to ensure on time delivery.

Manage the overall project schedule for on time performance of the project.

Drive quality standards to ensure internal company quality standards are enforced to deliver quality product to customers.

Determine and manage critical paths to avoid project slippage.

Maintain customer satisfaction at highest level and keep customers informed on the progress and status of their projects.

To manage the project budget in line with SAAT Operations’ strategy/objectives

Review the project budget in line with SAAT operations’ strategy/objectives.

Drive profitability by managing and optimizing the project budget, ensuring all expenditure is in line with the agreed and approved budgets.

Liaise with customers to agree and monitor expenditures outside the project/contract scope.

Confirm the issuing of invoices to customers as per contract.

Oversee the validity of over and above tasks and man hours in line with the project scope of work.

Supervision of staff and all relevant HR issues (leave skills development, safety procedures, training etc.)

Ensure quality standards are followed for all work produced in section to ensure clear and accurate documents/reports from the department.

Develop and communicate in house procedural changes to work instructions.

Motivate employees within the section to ensure high morale and improve productivity.

Enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety policy to ensure subordinates work in safe and healthy environment.

Enforce adherence to all HR policies, procedures and regulatory frameworks.

Relevant Degree ( Project Management or Engineering), Plus 3 years’ experience as defined below - Essential

OR

No degree plus 4 years’ experience as defined below - Essential

OR

Grade 12 and holder of a recognized “Aircraft Trade” certificate plus experience as defined below - Essential

Aircraft Maintenance experience as a Senior License Technician in Aviation 4 years + (without a  degree)    Essential

OR

Aircraft Maintenance experience as a Team Leader in  Aviation 4 years +
(without a degree) - Essential

OR

CAMO experience as Planning Leader and/or Engineering Analyst

These years of experience may have been gained simultaneously Aviation 4 years + (without a degree) - Essential

OR

Project Management/Coordinator experience in Production Control

These years of experience may have been gained simultaneously Aviation 4 years + (without a degree) - Essential

OR

Manager in aircraft maintenance environment.  General Aviation 4 years + (without a degree) - Essential

OR 

Manager in aircraft maintenance environment.  General Aviation 3 years + (with degree) - Essential
