POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner \/ Delivery Lead to take ownership of a key product feature throughout its entire lifecycle, from concept and planning through to production deployment and ongoing support. This is a highly visible role that combines product ownership, project coordination, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, quality assurance, and software delivery management. You will work closely with developers, business stakeholders, and end users to understand requirements, define solutions, coordinate delivery activities, and ensure successful outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing priorities, maintaining product backlogs, coordinating project activities, overseeing testing and release preparation, and driving continuous product improvements. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving business problems, and delivering solutions that create meaningful value for customers. Key Responsibilities Own the delivery of a product feature from concept through to production deployment. Gather, analyse, and document business and user requirements. Write specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation. Prioritise and manage the product backlog based on business needs and delivery objectives. Coordinate development activities, sprint planning, release preparation, and delivery tracking. Manage day-to-day activities of a small development team. Ensure developers understand requirements, priorities, and expected deliverables. Perform QA testing and coordinate testing activities before production releases. Review completed work against agreed requirements and acceptance criteria. Provide QA sign-off and release-readiness decisions. Facilitate user testing and gather feedback for continuous product improvement. Support product features after release, including incident management and enhancement requests. Communicate delivery progress, risks, and blockers to key stakeholders. Take accountability for the ongoing quality and success of assigned product areas. Job Experience and Skills Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification and relevant experience. Experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Project Coordination, Software Delivery, or similar roles. Minimum 3 years' experience in a management, team lead, product, project, or delivery-focused position. Minimum 5 years' experience within Insurance or Financial Services environments. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. Ability to work effectively with developers, business users, clients, and customers. Proven ability to write clear requirements, specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills. High levels of accountability, ownership, and initiative. Excellent communication and follow-through capabilities. Technical and Functional Skills Product ownership and backlog management.
