Product Manager – Selby Recruitment Agency: Midvaal Recruitment Reference Number: MID738 Email:   About the Role We are seeking an experienced Product Manager based in Selby. Partnering with Midvaal Recruitment on behalf of a leading industry specialist, this role takes full technical and commercial ownership of the refrigeration, HVAC, and air-conditioning product portfolio to drive portfolio growth, evaluation, and development.   Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management: Manage, optimize, and continuously improve the company’s product portfolio. Identify gaps, redundancies, and obsolete items within existing ranges. Product & Supplier Evaluation: Assess and evaluate new products, emerging technologies, and prospective suppliers. Commercial Viability & Costing: Analyze and assess product costs, selling prices, profit margins, and overall market competitiveness. Technical Support: Deliver expert technical product support and guidance to the national branch network. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement on product lifecycle management, inventory stock suitability, and technical substitutions. Coordinate technical evaluations and product testing with Engineering. Training Development: Build and roll out technical training and product knowledge initiatives across the business.   Requirements & Qualifications Education: Grade 12 / Matric. Formal technical qualification in refrigeration, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering.   Experience: Extensive practical background in refrigeration, HVAC, and air-conditioning products and applications. Strong technical knowledge encompassing compressors, condensing units, evaporators, refrigerants, controls, and associated systems. Note: Relevant technical industry experience takes precedence over previous formal product management job titles. Prior product management, technical management, or supplier evaluation experience is advantageous.   Skills & Knowledge: Exceptional product knowledge in refrigeration, HVAC, and air-conditioning. Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications, equipment-selection requirements, and performance data. Commercial acumen covering product costing, pricing, and margins. Experience with SAP Business One (or a similar ERP system) and international sourcing/product development is advantageous.   Key Competencies & Attributes Analytical & Strategic: Strong analytical thinking, structured decision-making, and strategic foresight with high attention to detail.
