Primavera Project Planner

SUMMARY:
An International Project Engineering Consulting Company located in Pretoria, is seeking Primavera Project Planners to join their team working on project-based contracts in Botswana and Zimbabwe.
These are full-time, on-site 10-12 months renewable contract positions, offering the opportunity to work on large scale mining projects.

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities Manage and maintain project schedule by: Planning and setting up of project schedule with project stakeholders' input using Primavera and MS projects Following project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice Implement planning logic, understanding inter dependencies and knock-on effects Highlight critical path and resource loading issues Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time - raise early warnings with possible impacts to project schedule Weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports The role/s require full time on-site, travel and accommodation will be provided by the client Desired Experience & Qualification Related qualification advantageous 4-6+ years' Primavera project Planning experience in the mining/power plants and/or infrastructure industries Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and feasibility phases of projects Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential Sound Understanding of installation projects in mining environments. For the position in Botswana, underground experience is highly recommended Driven 'Can-do' attitude, with a passion for mega project planning Process orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirements Able to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the outputs Analytical thinker, energetic and flexible Must be fluent in English Must be medically fit to work on mining construction sites Package & Remuneration Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Client provides on-site accommodation and pays for travel expenses to site Possibly renewable 10-12 month contracts, working on rotational basis (6 months on, 2 weeks off) Interested?
