The successful candidate will maintain engineering master data, BOMs, workflows, document controls and system integrations; develop automation and process improvements; troubleshoot day-to-day system, data and CAD-related issues; and provide user support and training across departments. The role also includes limited mechanical draughting and drawing support as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • SYSPRO / Engineering Master Data Management: Create, maintain and troubleshoot engineering master data in SYSPRO, including stock codes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), operations, routes and associated engineering data.
  • BOM & Product Configuration Support: Create, review and correct BOMs, product configurations, component structures and operation sequences, ensuring engineering information is accurate and aligned across systems.
  • Engineering Change & EPC Support: Support the creation and processing of EPCs, including workflow changes, troubleshooting, system improvements and ensuring engineering changes are correctly reflected across relevant systems and documentation.
  • SOLIDWORKS Administration & User Support: Provide day-to-day technical support for SOLIDWORKS and coordinate or provide user training where required.
  • Engineering Drawing & CAD Support: Support users with drawing and model retrieval, revisions, missing documentation, engineering file issues and other CAD-related problems.
  • Mechanical Draughting and Design Support: Produce and revise mechanical drawings and models using SOLIDWORKS as required, including Manufacturing Drawings, QC Drawings, General Assembly Drawings, Sectional Assemblies and Exploded Views. Draughting activities are expected to account for approximately 10–20% of the position.
  • Engineering Document Control: Maintain accurate engineering documentation, revisions, filing structures, part numbering and associated PDM/PLM controls in accordance with company standards.
  • Engineering Standards & Quality: Ensure drawings, BOMs, engineering data and system processes comply with company procedures, draughting standards, manufacturing requirements and engineering best practices.
  • Engineering Department Support: Provide daily support to Engineering and other departments for PDM, SOLIDWORKS, drawings, BOMs, EPCs, SYSPRO and engineering-system-related queries and problems.
  • Troubleshooting & Corrective Support: Investigate and resolve urgent system, data, workflow, drawing and configuration issues that may affect Engineering, Manufacturing, Projects or other departments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system development, automation, workflow improvement, data-quality improvement and reduction of repetitive administrative tasks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with engineers, draughtsmen, Projects, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and other departments to ensure engineering information and systems effectively support business requirements.
  • Training & Knowledge Transfer: Assist with training and supporting Engineering users in SOLIDWORKS, PDM and relevant internal Engineering systems and processes.
  • Perform planned system development, administration, maintenance and improvement activities while also responding to unplanned day-to-day Engineering support requirements.
