POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Panel Operator Grade: C1 Reports To: Extraction Superintendent Department/Centre: Production Main Purpose of the job: To monitor and adjust the speed and performance of the cane yard carriers, diffuser and de-watering mills to achieve specified standards. To co-ordinate plant start-ups and shutdowns with process and boilers as required. To maintain correct diffuser levels, temperate profile, imbibition rates and extraction performance. To ensure a continuous supply of juice to process and good quality bagasse to the boilers. To prevent chokes, flooding, and process interruptions. To carry out routine inspections and maintenance of equipment during stop days and off crop period. Ensure accurate and timely recording of production figures and stoppage report. Provide shift coverage to ensure production targets. quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. Qualifications & Experience: Grade 12 Proven exposure to sugar manufacturing environment will be advantageous. Strong leadership abilities with the capability to effectively manage and motivate teams Personal Qualities Hard worker, paying attention to details. Team oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments. Highly safety conscious, with a commitment to maintaining and promoting safe working practices. Good communication skills. Physically fit and be able to work unsupervised
