Paint Mixer / Colour Matcher - Edenvale area

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 07h00 – 17h00
• Every second Saturday: 08h00 – 12h00
• This is an on-site position.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Paint Mixer / Colour Matcher 

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' practical experience in automotive paint mixing and colour matching.

The individual must have a strong eye for colour, be able to accurately match colours from customer samples, and be comfortable working with computer-based paint formulation and mixing systems.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume working environment, and the successful candidate must be able to work accurately under pressure while maintaining consistent quality and meeting deadlines.

The candidate must also be a team player who is able to communicate effectively and interact professionally with customers, colleagues, supervisors, and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate and accurately match paint colours from customer samples.
• Mix formulated colours using the relevant paint mixing system.
• Use computer-based paint formulation software to formulate and match colours.
• Accurately assess colours and make the necessary adjustments to achieve the required colour match.
• Maintain a strong focus on colour accuracy and consistency.
• Have a good understanding of different paint binder systems.
• Have a good understanding of automotive and light industrial paint systems.
• Ensure all paint is mixed according to the correct formulation and required specifications.
• Follow all prescribed mixing, quality control and safety procedures.
• Handle high volumes of paint mixing while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Work efficiently to meet customer requirements and turnaround times.
• Keep the mixing room, equipment and work area clean, neat and organised.
• Ensure mixing equipment and tools are properly maintained and used correctly.
• Identify and report any issues relating to colour matching, paint systems, equipment or stock.
• Work closely with the sales team, management and other staff members to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Maintain a professional and positive approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience as a Paint Mixer / Colour Matcher.
• Automotive paint mixing and colour-matching experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of automotive paint systems.
• Good understanding of light industrial paint systems.
• Good understanding of different paint binder systems.
• Experience using computer-based paint formulation software.
• Strong colour perception and an excellent eye for colour.
• Ability to accurately match colours from customer samples.
• Ability to work with high volumes of paint mixing in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work accurately and consistently under pressure.
• Good attention to detail.

IMPORTANT RECRUITMENT CRITERIA

6. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to work the required Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday hours.
8. Candidate must be comfortable working fully on-site in the Edenvale area
