Operator - Control Room

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operator - Control Room to join our team. We are looking for a responsible, vigilant and reliable candidate to monitor the company’s CCTV surveillance systems and assist in maintaining a safe and secure working environment across the company’s premises.

• Monitor all CCTV cameras and surveillance systems continuously to identify suspicious, unsafe or unauthorised activities.
• Monitor and control access to company premises through security and surveillance systems.
• Immediately report security incidents, suspicious behaviour, theft, safety hazards or other irregularities to the relevant management or security personnel.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of incidents, visitors, security events and other relevant activities.
• Review and retrieve CCTV footage when required for investigations.
• Monitor alarms and respond to security alerts according to company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with security guards, management and relevant departments regarding incidents or emergencies.
• Ensure that all security and surveillance equipment is functioning correctly and report any faults immediately.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding CCTV footage, security information and company activities.
• Assist with emergency procedures and coordinate with relevant personnel during incidents.
• Ensure that all control room procedures and company security policies are followed at all times.

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Previous experience in a control room, CCTV monitoring, security or similar environment will be advantageous.
• Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Strong observation and attention to detail.
• Reliable, trustworthy and responsible.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Working Conditions

The position will be based in the company's security control room and will require shift work, which may include weekends, public holidays and night shifts, depending on operational requirements.
