Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living which includes patient hygiene, nutritional status, mobility and elimination needs.
  • Provide elementary clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of physical and financial resources.
  • Maintaining professional growth/ethical standards and self-development and record keeping. 

Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant. Registration with a professional council: Registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.

Experience: 

  • Grade 1: None. 
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant. 
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Inherent requirements of the job: Willing to rotate in other wards when required. Willingness to work shifts (day and night), weekends, public holidays and overtime.
  • Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently, but also as a part of a team.
