Mining Electrician

SUMMARY:
Rite Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Mining Electrician to join our client’s mining operation in the Kuruman / Khatu area, Northern Cape.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Electrician with solid mining electrical experience, particularly experience working with fuel systems and fuel dispensing equipment.
📍 COMMUTING REQUIREMENT
Candidates must reside within a reasonable daily commuting distance of the workplace and be able to reliably travel to and from the mine on a daily basis.
Candidates residing further afield may be considered provided they are able and willing to commute daily and can meet the operational requirements of the position.

POSITION INFO:
🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: Electrical maintenance and repairs on mining equipment and infrastructure. Installation, maintenance and fault-finding of electrical systems. Conducting preventative and planned electrical maintenance. Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently and safely. Working on fuel systems, fuel dispensing equipment, fuel pumps and associated electrical installations . Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical panels, control systems, motors, pumps and related equipment. Carrying out electrical inspections and ensuring equipment is safe and operational. Testing electrical equipment and installations. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, diagrams and schematics. Performing breakdown maintenance and responding to electrical faults. Ensuring all electrical work complies with applicable mining legislation, safety standards and company procedures. Completing maintenance reports, job cards and relevant documentation. Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance. Working closely with the maintenance and mining teams to minimise equipment downtime. Identifying potential electrical problems before they result in breakdowns. Ensuring all work is carried out according to mine Health & Safety requirements . Adhering to lock-out\/tag-out and safe isolation procedures. Maintaining good housekeeping in work areas. Assisting with new electrical installations, upgrades and modifications where required. Participating in emergency and breakdown call-outs when required. Maintaining electrical tools and equipment in good working condition. Following all company policies, procedures and safety regulations. ✅ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Electrical Trade Test \/ Red Seal Electrician qualification. Proven mining electrical experience is essential. Mining electrical experience on fuel systems is essential. Proven experience with fuel dispensing equipment, fuel pumps and associated electrical installations . Experience with electrical fault-finding and preventative maintenance. Knowledge of mining electrical systems and equipment. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics. Strong knowledge of electrical safety and mining safety procedures. Valid driver's licence. Good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
