Medical Malpractice Claims Consultant

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Claims Consultant to join our Medical Malpractice team. This is a specialist role requiring a solid understanding of liability insurance claims management, particularly within the Medical Malpractice and Professional Indemnity space.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement) RE5 Representative qualification, or actively working towards completion (preferred) Law degree, or actively working towards completion (preferred) Demonstrated experience in short-term insurance claims, with a specific focus on Liability Insurance in Medical Malpractice, Road Accident Claims or Professional Indemnity (preferred) Familiarity with Lloyd''s of London binder requirements and reporting obligations will be a distinct advantage Key Responsibilities: Claims Management: Register new claims and manage the full claims lifecycle through to finalisation. Appoint and instruct attorneys and other service providers in accordance with Lloyd''s of London and Syndicate procedures. Authorise payments, approvals, and rejections within delegated authority and applicable procedures. Maintain continuous and accurate updates on the internal claims management system. Keep local and London brokers regularly informed of claims developments. Reporting and Administration: Prepare and submit monthly Claims Bordereaux and Payment Bordereaux. Maintain a monthly claims diary and ensure all diary actions are completed timeously. Compile and submit Quarterly Triangulation reports. Prepare Large Loss Reports as required.
