POSITION INFO:
A prominent food manufacturing and packaging organisation dedicated to operational excellence, high-quality production standards, and continuous plant efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding, repair, and servicing of manufacturing and packaging equipment. Working alongside the Senior Fitter, you will play a vital role in minimising downtime and ensuring optimal machinery performance. Key responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and packaging machinery. Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns promptly. Assist with the installation, assembly, adjustment, and maintenance of production equipment. Conduct specialized fault-finding and repairs on mechanical and pneumatic systems. Monitor equipment performance actively to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency. Work closely with the Senior Fitter and production team to address maintenance requirements and support maintenance planning. Adhere strictly to all relevant health, safety, and food manufacturing standards. Assist with breakdowns, overtime, and standby callouts when required. Requirements A completed Fitter trade test OR substantial practical experience in a fitting or mechanical maintenance role. Proven experience working within a manufacturing, production, packaging, or similar fast-paced industrial environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and robust fault-finding abilities, with exposure to pneumatic systems. Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment, complete 12-hour shifts (06:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday), and participate in overtime or standby when necessary. Valid driver's licence and reliable transport (advantageous). Prior experience in food manufacturing, packaging machinery maintenance, or TIG welding (highly advantageous).
