POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Provide mechanical engineering support for boiler, steam, and thermal systems Support plant optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance Conduct engineering investigations, root cause analyses, and technical problem-solving activities Review and develop engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation Participate in equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects Ensure mechanical systems comply with applicable engineering and safety standards Support maintenance teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting activities Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement Liaise with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer Experience with boilers, steam systems, and thermal equipment Exposure to power generation, utilities, energy, or heavy industrial environments Strong understanding of thermo-fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles Experience with mechanical equipment performance analysis and optimisation Knowledge of pressure systems, pumps, valves, and associated mechanical equipment Experience conducting root cause failure analysis and troubleshooting activities Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Qualification: BEng \/ BSc in Mechanical Engineering Professional registration with ECSA or progress towards registration will be advantageous Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
