Machinist/Fitter & Turner - Packaging - Pinetown

POSITION INFO:
Our Packaging Manufacturing Client is currently recruiting for a Machinist to join their team based in Pinetown. The Fitter & Turner / Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components and machinery within the production environment. The successful candidate will ensure machinery operates efficiently to support continuous production. Key Responsibilities Machining & Fabrication - Operate lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to manufacture components. - Manufacture or repair machine parts, shafts, bushes, and mechanical components. - Ensure all machined parts meet required tolerances and specifications. Maintenance & Repairs - Perform maintenance and repairs on production machinery. - Assist with machine breakdowns and fault diagnosis. - Replace or repair damaged mechanical parts. Production Support - Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime. - Assist in improving machine performance and efficiency. - Ensure machinery is maintained to operational and safety standards. Health & Safety - Comply with company safety policies and procedures. - Maintain a clean and safe working environment. - Ensure correct use of tools, machinery, and PPE.
