Legal Counsel (Property & Leasing) - Where Every Contract Builds a Tower Paarl, Western Cape | Permanent | Market-related, commensurate with experience Behind every cell tower you pass are two contracts: a ground lease with the landowner and a lease with the mobile network operator. Our client, a growing independent telecoms tower company with a portfolio of more than 3,000 sites nationally, needs a sharp, practical attorney to draft those contracts and see them through. This is a hands-on commercial drafting role, not a research desk. You will own your documents from start to finish and then see them become real infrastructure on the ground. What you''ll do You''ll draft and negotiate site leases with MTN, Vodacom, Telkom and RAIN. You''ll conduct due diligence on landowner title and lease rights, and manage renewals, cessions and changes of ownership. You''ll track permitting, including aviation approvals, rezoning and environmental authorisations. You''ll handle company secretarial work, CIPC filings and supplier contracts, and manage disputes and external attorneys. You''ll report to the Head of Legal and work closely with the directors. What you''ll need LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court Roughly 3 to 6 years'' PQE, much of it in commercial property, leasing, conveyancing or property litigation Excellent contract drafting (there is a drafting exercise as part of selection) Meticulous attention to detail across high volumes of similar documents Advanced MS Word & Excel skills Experience with AI tools - preferably Claude Own transport and a valid driver''s licence Afrikaans is a strong advantage Ideally live in Paarl or surrounding towns Experience in telecoms, energy or infrastructure, servitudes and notarial deeds, municipal planning, or lender due diligence will count in your favour.
