Job Description

The successful candidate for Lecturer in Auditing will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Auditing
  • Conduct research and publish
  • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
  • Provide academic leadership and administration
  • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
  • Participate in community engagement and discipline-specific outreach

Requirements

  • Registered Chartered Accountant (SA)
  • A minimum of one year of relevant teaching or academic trainee experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and/or in a professional CA training environment
  • Active involvement in at least one community engagement activity relevant to the discipline
  • Involvement in institutional service activities, such as course coordination, committee work, curriculum planning, events planning or student support initiatives
  • Demonstrated early-stage engagement in academic or professional networks reflecting academic citizenship

  • At least one accredited publication


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to work as a senior member of a professional department within a Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Student focused approach
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Computer literacy and e-learning skills
  • Technical professional knowledge and skills in the discipline and in the core strategic areas, namely learning and teaching, research and scholarship, community engagement as well as professional leadership.
