To lead the Finance Data domain for Project FiT by aligning Data Quality, Chart of Accounts, HFM, FDMEE and reporting solutions. The role translates business requirements into practical and governed designs, directs and assures the HFM and FDMEE Specialists, and plans and reviews the Data Analyst’s work. It remains accountable for architecture coherence, controls and implementation readiness.
Finance Data Architecture and Design
- Own the end-to-end finance data architecture across source systems, FDMEE, HFM and reporting.
- Define target-state data flows, integration patterns, metadata principles and design guardrails.
- Assess downstream impacts and ensure alignment across Data Quality, Chart of Accounts, consolidation and reporting.
Specialist Direction and Design Assurance
- Set priorities and required outcomes for the HFM and FDMEE Specialists.
- Review and challenge designs, mappings, rules, metadata, controls and implementation recommendations.
- Confirm that specialist deliverables meet business, architecture and control requirements before implementation.
Data Analyst Leadership
- Plan and prioritise the Data Analyst’s work against roadmap and sprint commitments.
- Turn business and architecture questions into clear analysis, mapping and impact-assessment work packages.
- Review outputs for completeness, traceability and suitability for design and delivery decisions.
Integration, Data Quality and Controls
- Recommend sustainable integration, loading and automation approaches across finance systems.
- Define standards for mappings, metadata, validation, reconciliation, ownership and traceability.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution planning for material data-quality and consolidation risks.
Governance and Stakeholder Leadership
- Present architecture recommendations, decisions, risks and dependencies to relevant programme governance forums.
- Align Finance, Technology, BAU teams, the Data Analyst and external specialists.
- Maintain accountability for design decisions while balancing strategic architecture with near-term delivery.
Finance Data and Consolidation
- Senior experience in finance systems, finance data architecture, reporting architecture or consolidation environments.
- Strong understanding of group consolidation, financial close, intercompany processing, reporting and reconciliation controls.
- Experience with Chart of Accounts, finance data models, metadata, mappings and data governance.
HFM and FDMEE
- Sufficient Oracle HFM and FDMEE expertise to direct, review and challenge specialist delivery.
- Understanding of HFM rules, metadata, hierarchies, validation and consolidation behaviour.
- Understanding of FDMEE integration, mapping, validation, reconciliation and data loading. The role need not be the primary configurator.
Leadership and Delivery
- Experience leading analysts, technical specialists and consultants in a complex delivery environment.
- Ability to define work packages, set priorities, review quality and manage cross-team dependencies.
- Strong facilitation, communication and decision-making skills, including engagement with senior Finance and Technology stakeholders.
An experienced Finance Data Architecture leader with a strong background in financial consolidation, reporting systems and enterprise data design. The candidate should operate comfortably at both strategic and delivery levels, retaining architecture accountability while enabling the HFM and FDMEE Specialists and the Data Analyst to execute effectively.
They should have enough HFM and FDMEE depth to challenge designs and identify implementation risks, but their primary value should be architecture ownership, integration thinking, data governance and delivery leadership. They must be able to connect business outcomes, data quality, metadata, controls and implementation into a coherent and sustainable Finance Data solution.
