JOB PURPOSE

The Junior finance administrator position at Mecer Inter-Ed exists to provide essential administrative support to the accounting department, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions, record-keeping, and client communication, thereby contributing to the overall financial stability and success of the organization.

 

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

  • Deliver Transaction Processing Management: Efficiently process financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data entry and documentation.
  • Financial Records Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, making them readily accessible for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Payment Processing: Overseeing the processing of payments, including verification, scheduling, and execution of transactions.
  • Invoicing: Create invoices, ensuring accurate and timely issuance of invoices to clients.
  • Client Relations and Communication: Manage client interactions regarding billing, payments, and financial inquiries, ensuring excellent customer service and timely issue resolution.
  • Administrative Efficiency: Support the Financial Manager and accounting team with administrative tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.
  • Professional Development: Continuously enhance your own expertise through ongoing learning and training opportunities. Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to the improvement of the company.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to Mecer Inter-Ed's quality standards and regulatory requirements in all activities. Participate in audits and assessments as needed.

Various administrative tasks, beyond the above listed, from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher qualification in finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in an administrative role, preferably in a finance or accounting context.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and accounting software.

 

Knowledge

  • Basic Financial Principles: Understanding of fundamental financial concepts, such as income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, to effectively handle financial transactions and records.
  • Accounting Software Familiarity: Knowledge of accounting software and systems used for transaction processing and record-keeping.
  • Financial Documentation: Familiarity with financial documentation and record-keeping procedures, ensuring accurate and organized financial records.
  • Invoicing Procedures: Understanding of invoicing processes, including invoice generation, formatting, and distribution to clients.
  • Data Entry and Management: Proficiency in data entry techniques and data management to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Compliance Awareness: Basic awareness of financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the role.

  • A keen eye for detail to detect and rectify discrepancies in financial records, invoices, and transactions.
